The Philippine Film Heritage Building

At the heart of the design is the idea of cinema as collective experience. Rather than creating a formal and intimidating institutional building, the space is designed as an open and welcoming cultural hub where filmmakers, students, artists, and the public can gather naturally. The interiors are intentionally warm and grounded, using natural textures, woven materials, wood finishes, tropical planting, and soft neutral tones to reflect a distinctly Filipino sensibility. These elements soften the scale of the large interior volumes and create spaces that feel intimate despite the building’s institutional purpose.
